Welcome to Mr Tumble's greatest (only??!) Fansite!

2nd September 2008

Don't forget - Something Special (featuring the awesome Justin Fletcher as Mr Tumble) is still ON - BBC2, 9.20am (that's twenty past nine in the morning for the clever 3 year olds reading this!).  Many thanks to everyone who's left a message - Mr Tumble is as popular as ever!!!

It's also good to see that eBay are doing some relevant advertising on this site - about time - I know it doesnt show every time (it's all part of Google's Adwords rotational system!) but at least it's stuff that we may want from the most famous auction site in the world. Yay!

1st February 2008

Please see http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/contact/ for info about DVD's etc - don't forget, we are not an official MrTumble Site!!

However, we do know that the MrTumble production team at the BBC know about this site, so your praise and comments about Mr Tumble are sure to be appreciated!!

14th January 2008

Just a reminder of the great BBC website for our hero - http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/somethingspecial/ - you can find all sorts here - games a speciality!!

Enjoy!

Mr Tumble to receive an OBE?!

10th August 2007 - Many thanks to Tombliboo who has informed us (see message board below) of the petition on the Prime Ministers website where you can register your support to award Justin Fletcher (who of course plays Mr Tumble!) an OBE!  Goto http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Cbeebies/ to register your vote.  We have!

July 13th 2007 - We've added a new survey - to find out if fans of Mr Tumble would prefer him to stick with the Makaton sign language system, or switch to the more widely used British Sign Language (BSL) - click here for more info.     To find out more about Makaton, click here.

The results of the original question - was Mr Tumble really making rude signs - was a resounding NO - in fact 95% (330 votes!) said he was innocent!  Thanks to everyone that voted - including the 11 mavericks who said Mr Tumble should be sent to the naughty step.

To Victoria B :   Thanks for the message!!  To be fair to the Beeb, Something Special is still being shown on CBeebies, but the schedules are changed every now and then!  See the 'Mr Tumbles TV Times' link on the left for the bang-up-to-date BBC schedule for Mr Tumble / Something Special.         All the best, MTII Ed.

The Guestbook is still open - please feel free to support Mr Tumble by leaving a message below (over 75 left so far!!!)

(All messages are checked for nice-ness before being allowed).

8/5/07 : Mr Tumble is back on CBeebies .... weekdays from Monday ... 9:20am and repeated at 12:20pm!

Should Mr Tumble switch to using BSL sign language or stick with the Makaton system?

Justin, you are a god send to my day, My 2 year old has watched you since she was eight months old, and now demands to see you daily from the moment she gets up until she goes to bed, I have to record you everyday on Cbeebies and then watch the episode at least four times over at a time.  You now have my four month old hooked and mr tumble and grandad tumble are a guaranteed stopper of the teething scream!!! You are wonderful, long may you continue.  All I can say is keep Mr Tumble and Justin Fletcher on our screens all children should have a bit of you everyday, you are guaranteed to bring sunshine to every household

Our 21 month old son doesn't have special needs and is, in fact, very communicative.  However, he LOVES Mr Tumble and all things Justin (including his 'Let's Sing Nursery Rhymes DVD etc.)  He is not patronising with the children and when you see how well the children on the show respond to him it shows what a good guy he is.  Our son is loving the 'Something Special: Out and About' series and I'm glad the normal something special is back on too.  When someone brings such joy to children of all abilities they should be commended, not villified.  Thank you, Mr Tumble, for all you've done. (Plus, kudos on the weight loss.)

my 4yr old daughter has special needs. Recently at a hospital appointment makaton was suggested to help my daughter communicate. My daughter signed 'like that' that she had learnt from mr Tumble.

All 4of my children always sit glued to Mr Tumble, everyone of us make mistakes, we are only human so be fair and keep (Justin) Mr Tumble

Dear Justin,

Thank you for making such a lovely program. I have 5 children 2 autistic, when my 14 yr old was young with no language skills there was nothing on the telly for him how i wish he had been able to watch mr Tumble!!! But now his baby sister watches it and at 10 months is staring to sign she is not special needs just pre vocal and it's lovely to have sat and watched it together and now she can communicate with us.

Long may Something Special run

thanks Pauline

Dear justin,

my 20 month old son absolutely adores you especially mr tumble or bumble as he says.

he copies the makaton signs along with the programme and as I have an elder son who has microcephaly it is a breathe of fresh air that a programme intergrates both able bodied children and special needs children in such a lovely un patronising way.

my makaton skills are rusty as I no longer use them daily, your programme is excellent as not all communication skills are verbal and the more my children learn from your programme can only be seen as a good thing in raising well rounded individuals that can communicate in a caring way with everyone they meet, regardless of abilities.well done on your brilliant programme.

Jayne.

My 2 year old daughter is a complete Mr. Tumble fan and although she's not special needs she has learnt so much of the sign language and repeats it over and over all day long.

Thankfully our Sky+ has over 15 episodes saved so she is able to watch over and over again, but for those who are no longer able to watch on the BBC, it’s a travesty. These children would not understand the issue at hand, and it’s only the so called adults with nothing better to do that have caused such unnecessary misery.

I hope that those responsible will realise their misjudgment and that Mr. tumble is reinstated back onto all BBC channels very soon.

Keep up the good work Justin, your work is appreciated all across the country by Children and adults alike.
