Formerly known as Gigglebox (of which 5 episodes aired on CBeebies last Christmas) Justin Fletcher stars as various comedy characters in Gigglebiz - a live-action sketch show aimed at the under sixes!

CBeebies have commissioned 25 episodes of 15 minutes each.

Hope you're having a great summer!   I know it's a bit early, but we've had some great news from Justin's office...:

"You probably already know but Justin will be appearing in Cinderella at the Capitol Theatre in Horsham over the Christmas and New Year period. He's playing Buttons. It runs from Dec 10th to Jan 3rd 2010.

We are also looking at maybe doing a tour of live shows next year but yet to be confirmed."

Uhoh ... there's trouble in Tumble Land!   

There are two things which seem to have upset some Little Tumblers about Mr T's latest outings...firstly, Justin has cut his hair short (the exact opposite of me - I'm growing mine for the Download Festival, although some say it's mid-life crisis having just turned forty!) so Mr Tumble is now looking more like an army recruit than a friendly childrens entertainer!

Secondly, he's not singing his hello and goodbye songs the same as before - causing teary eyes!

We've had a really cool message from fellow Tumbler Nikki :

"We recently met Justin at the Doncaster's Yorkshire Wildlife Trust opening day on the 4th April.  I was completely amazed how nice and patient he was with all the children (there must have been over 200).  He sat with every child, they had their photo taken and he gave every one of them an autograph.  He came across as a genuinely caring and nice man.  Both of my children are absolutely crazy about him and my 2 year old hasn't stopped talking about meeting him.

The Wildlife Park also has a website and there is a link showing Justin opening the park:

Hi Tumble Fans!   We've been busy at MTII - tidying up and adding new products to the DVD (and books and CDs!) Page because you keep asking us for all stuff Mr Tumble!

In other news, we've had a lovely e-mail from Justin's production company -  Scrumptious House - in which they say:

21st January 2009 - Justin Fletcher's Bafta

It's official - Justin Fletcher is AWESOME!  You may know that Justin won a BAFTA, more specifically a Best Presenter award at the British Academy Childrens Awards on 30th November 2008.   Many many thanks to Kris, of www.ecoknits.co.uk (love the site Kris!) who sent us this interview Justin gave just after he'd collected his award:

  Awesome, Justin, awesome!   We've also added some more links to Justin's huge collection of DVD's and books on our Goodies Page - including The Tweenies - as I'm sure you know Justin is the voice of Jake...

Hope you are all settled in back at work, looking after the little ones, or better still letting your other half look after them while you surf the net!

For some time now, we've been getting emails asking us if we know where to get Mr Tumble related DVDs, Books and stuff.   Well, to try to help we've setup a Goodies Page - stuffed with things you might like from leading retailers.

For example, we've found a cracking Makaton DVD - Makaton - Nursery Rhymes - featuring Dave Benson Phillips who you might recognise from Playdays: The Playground Stop as well as being on all sorts of programmes on the BBC, ITV, Nickleodeon and most recently Playhouse Disney.  You can find his website here. 

We'll keep adding to the Goodies Page whenever we come across new stuff we think you'll like!

It's a busy time here at MTII - what with Christmas just around the corner, and with now over 200 (yes, two hundred!) messages of support and thanks for Mr Tumble / Justin Fletcher.  Keep them coming!  Don't forget we are only an unofficial fansite, but the makers of Something Special at the BBC do know about us...!

 It's about time we released the results of our latest poll . . . and by a HUGE margin you decided that Mr Tumble should stick with the Makaton signing system with 371 (87%) of the votes!

Don't forget - Something Special (featuring the awesome Justin Fletcher as Mr Tumble) is still ON - BBC2, 9.20am (that's twenty past nine in the morning for the clever 3 year olds reading this!).  Many thanks to everyone who's left a message - Mr Tumble is as popular as ever!!!

It's also good to see that eBay are doing some relevant advertising on this site - about time - I know it doesnt show every time (it's all part of Google's Adwords rotational system!) but at least it's stuff that we may want from the most famous auction site in the world. Yay!

  Mr Tumble to receive an OBE?!

 10th August 2007 - Many thanks to Tombliboo who has informed us (see message board below) of the petition on the Prime Ministers website where you can register your support to award Justin Fletcher (who of course plays Mr Tumble!) an OBE!  Goto http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Cbeebies/ to register your vote.  We have!

July 13th 2007 - We've added a new survey - to find out if fans of Mr Tumble would prefer him to stick with the Makaton sign language system, or switch to the more widely used British Sign Language (BSL) - click here for more info.     To find out more about Makaton, click here.

The results of the original question - was Mr Tumble really making rude signs - was a resounding NO - in fact 95% (330 votes!) said he was innocent!  Thanks to everyone that voted - including the 11 mavericks who said Mr Tumble should be sent to the naughty step.

To Victoria B :   Thanks for the message!!  To be fair to the Beeb, Something Special is still being shown on CBeebies, but the schedules are changed every now and then!  See the 'Mr Tumbles TV Times' link on the left for the bang-up-to-date BBC schedule for Mr Tumble / Something Special.         All the best, MTII Ed.
