My daughter, Kathryn, has recently been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Although she has had trouble with her joints since the age of 11 and has had countless operations over the past twenty years without any success, the diagnosis only came 6 months ago. EDS is a very painful and debilitating condition which, in my daughter’s case, has resulted in countless dislocations of the shoulders, hips, elbows and knee joints. She is now confined to a wheel chair. Unfortunately she has passed the condition on to her children aged 7 and 4. Sam and Izzy have been advised that they should not jump, run or do any activity which will put pressure onto their joints. Even so, they are probably going to end up confined to a wheelchair like their mum. EDS was finally recognised in 1997 but is still not widely identified, even within the medical profession. In order to promote awareness and, hopefully, fund some research, Kathryn is organising a charity event at the Charnwood Arms, Coalville, on July 8th which will include a charity auction.

06 February 2012 katy harvey Hello Mr Fletcher/Mr Tumble!
My daughter Indy is four, she has a very rare condition called Angelman Syndrome, she has no speech at all and is very developmentally delayed, thankfully she has just learned to walk which is amazing! She also has epilepsy.
She goes to an absolutly amazing preschool called Taunton Oppertunity Group, TOG. They have been a massive help in Indys success. It is a special needs preschool and the children that go have a very wide range of disabilities. I didnt really know how to go about doing it but i was hoping that we would be able to arrange a visit from yourself to TOG i know it would make everyones yr!

All my children have loved watching you on the telly and my 2 year old Georgia is hooked!!! So glad the new series is on as we have watched them all over and over. Hope you could make it to our island for a show as I can be sure that you will be a sell out on the Island Hope to see you here very soon Trudi and Georgia xx |
Mr Tumble My daughter absolutely adores you we watch you every morning and evening. At 22 months she holds her toy guitar and sings the theme tune with you. We travelled to Lego Land this year to see you and it rained mostly all day. Isabella was shouting 'MR TUMBLE' and was truelly disappointed when you did not come on stage as him she was only 19 months old. Will you be making any other appearances in the London / Kent area this year? I heard about bluewater after the event unfortunately. I'm busy getting all Mr Tumble style things for Isabella's 2nd b'day (all her clothes and bedding have coloured spots on as has to be Mr Tumble!). The house will be decorated with colour spots, the cakes with coloured spot cases and we've managed to find a Mr Tumble style wooden kitchen from Hamley's. Thanks for producing a fantastic show that never fails to engage my daughter. She asks for particular episodes now ie Cliff Tumble or the baby one. Stacey |

02 September 2011 Tara Pleasesignmypetition Mitchell Hi all Justin and Mr Tumble Fans! My son is disabled and cannot communicate verbally. Mr Tumble has featured in our life quite heavily over the last few years as my son adores him and through using Makaton he has learned how to sign and the difference in him has been amazing. I feel that Makaton and BSL should be put onto the Curriculum so that all children have the opportunity to benefit from being able to communicate with their peers. There are currently c.77,000 disabled children in England and Wales many of which will be encouraged to attend a mainstream school. I feel that if we are to have true inclusion Makaton and BSL should be on the Curriculum. We already have the opportunity to learn a broad range of foreign languages in our schools yet this begs the question as to why we are not doing more to learn to communicate with our already disadvantaged and largely isolated children. I have started an e-petition to raise this matter and would be so very grateful if you could sign the petition below it if you agree, Thank you in advance and keep up the good work Justin! x |

My son is just over 2 years old and he loves you almost as much as I do!....you are the best children's entertainer on our TV and I think what you do is amazing! My son often uses signs while trying to speak to us and is glued to the TV whenever you are on. It is the one childrens programme that I love to watch with my son. Not only on Mr Tumble but other programmes we see you on. We are so lucky to have you on our screens and I hope we see you for a long time to come. Would also be great to see you on tour! xxxxx |
